Why Mosquito Control is Important in New Jersey

Why Mosquito Control is Important:

Spring and summer means mosquito season is here! Mosquitos are most active from April to October in New Jersey. Depending on the temperature, sometimes as early as March and as late as November. There are dozens of types of mosquitos in New Jersey, and they all pose some sort of threat. To make sure you’re safe and having a wonderful summer, here is why you should think about Mosquito Control:

1. They Spread Diseases

Some of the diseases and viruses spread from mosquitos are West Nile, Zika, Dengue, Malaria, Yellow Fever, Chikungunya, La Crosse Encephalitis, and Rift Valley Fever. Wow, that’s a lot! And there are more than that in other areas! There are even diseases that only spread to animals from mosquitos too.

The West Nile Virus is the most common Mosquito-Borne Disease threat to the United States. It is spread by a mosquito who has previously fed on an infected bird and then passes it to a human. In between the years 1999-2016 there were 46,000 cases of the West Nile Virus reported.

To keep your family, friends, and pets safe, get rid of those mosquitos! Mosquito control does just that. No more worrying about getting bitten in your yard or to fear getting a disease.

2. They’re a Nuisance

Not as serious as the first reason, but the second reason to use mosquito control is that ultimately, they are a nuisance. Have you ever been sitting outside at night in the summer with your friends and family and suddenly you find yourself smacking at your legs? Or you want to look up at the stars on a clear summer night and there are constantly mosquitos flying around you? How annoying! You almost can’t enjoy yourself or your yard if you’re constantly being bitten by mosquitos.

No worries! With mosquito control, all that goes away. No more slapping at your body or shooing the air. You get to enjoy those spring and summer nights with your friends and family mosquito free!

Healthy Lawn strives to prevent the spread of mosquito-borne diseases, and of course keep the fun going all season long with our mosquito control applications. Contact us:
